A woman who had a history of pulmonary hypertension was encouraged by her doctors to undergo cardiac catheterization. When a complication occurred during the procedure causing a pseudoaneurysm, the surgeons chose to inject her with a clotting agent instead of placing a stent. She was released after 48 hours of observation, the vessel ruptured and she died fourteen hours later.
